Personal statement

I received the Ph.D. degree in Optical Electronics from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, U.K., in 1996. My research interests span chemical and biomedical sensors using optical and electrical measurement techniques. I have worked on projects with industrial partners such as Kodak, Airbus, and Kelman Ltd. I am currently at the Centre for Microsystems and Photonics, University of Strathclyde where my research interests include MEMS-based wavelength selective devices using whispering gallery modes, the development of MEMS explosive sensors using novel nitro-sensitive polymers, and development of optofluidic devices.
